Sprint has announced that the Motorola Admiral Android smartphone will be available from the carrier on October 23rd. The phone will cost $99.99 with a new two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. The Motorola ADMIRAL will be the first Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) PTT handset with support for its new CDMA-based Direct Connect network. The ADMIRAL also meets Mil-Spec 810G ratings for dust, shock, vibration, solar radiation, low pressure and high and low temperatures. The Admiral takes a 1.2GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage, 3G hotspot support, Wi-Fi devices with Mobile Hotspot, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. The 3.1-inch VGA display swathed in Gorilla Glass sits above a 4 row QWERTY keyboard, and a 5MP camera occupies the device’s rear.

The device also comes with Google mobile services, including Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail and Google Voice. And the Android Market will give you access to more than 250,000 applications, widgets and games.
