Asus MeMo 370T: The 7-Inch, Quad-Core, $250 Dream Tablet

ASUS Memo 370T was unveiled at the Consumer Electronic Show-2012. The phone is the world’s first 7-inch tablet powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor. Earlier Asus decided to introduce an affordable $250 7-inch Ice Cream Sandwich tablet for the masses. An early prototype of the 370T was captured the whole thing on video during CES 2012. The MeMo doesn’t cut a stunning figure like, say, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.7. It’s more akin to Amazon’s Kindle Fire in terms of thickness, but its back panel does have a gentle curve that makes the tablet easy to hold in one hand. The display will have a resolution of 1280-by-800 and uses a technology called in-plane switching to serve up wide viewing angles. It will have a microUSB port, a microSD card reader and micro HDMI-out. Other specs include up to 16 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, but no front-facing camera.

The combination of quad-cores working hand-in-hand with Ice Cream Sandwich is any Android fanboy’s dream. The fact that this should be launching later this year for $250
